In data released today, ACT small to medium businesses (SMBs) are even less confident in the ACT Labor Government’s policies than they were six months ago.
“The latest Sensis Business Index indicates that support for the ACT Labor Government’s policies have plummeted twelve points down to minus eleven,” said ACT Shadow Minister for Local Business, Andrew Wall.
“This should be a clear message to the Chief Minister that the policies he has put forward have had no impact on making it easier to operate a business in the ACT and in turn boosting the economy.
“This quarterly report indicates that 21% of SMBs believe that the ACT Labor Government’s policies actively work against them and 69% believe that the policies of this government have no impact at all on their day to day business activities.
“The survey highlights that the current strategy of the Barr Government is having no impact, or worse a negative impact on the ability of ACT businesses to grow. This is in line with what I hear on a daily basis from local businesses.
“The Barr Government have a great deal of work to do to gain the confidence of local businesses, the Canberra Liberals will continue to highlight the areas where government policies are failing,” Mr Wall concluded.
