Local Canberra defence industry to benefit from $528,000 investment in innovative technologies

Canberra based company, Quintessence Labs, has been awarded a $528,000 contract through the Defence Innovation Hub to develop their technology in support of the Australian Defence Force.

Senator for the ACT, Zed Seselja, said this significant investment in the Australian industry and innovation sector will ensure Defence has access to leading-edge technology.

“This funding will not only support local jobs, skills and knowledge in Canberra but will continue to keep our local defence industry engaged in developing the latest technologies for Australia’s defence,” Senator Seselja said.

“The Defence Innovation Hub is a great initiative that allows suppliers in Canberra to support our Defence Force and get a slice of the action.

“We need to ensure that we maximise opportunities for Australian industry to contribute to our capability needs,” he said.

Industry and research organisations can continue to submit proposals through the Defence Innovation Portal at www.business.gov.au/cdic.
