Labor is ‘double dipping’ in the pockets of Australia’s 3.3 million small businesses, who employ almost 6 million Australians. If Bill repeals the coalition’s laws he is saying no to local jobs and yes to shutting the doors of family businesses. #backingsmallbusiness

Tonight, Coalition legislation passed the Senate, creating new criminal & civil penalties for banking & corporate misconduct, after Labor backdown on uncapped liability. @Bowenchris

Tough wk for @Bowenchris. You were forced into backdowns on uncapped penalties for corporates & retrospective penalties for super directors AND your amendments to the super bill were defeated! Plus, after @ClareONeilMP promised a response to RC within a week, we’re still waiting!

Outstanding effort by @MathiasCormann, leading negotiations in the Senate tonight to secure the passage of three important pieces of legislation that will:

- Increase penalties for corporate misconduct.

- Protect members’ superannuation.

- And implement two RC recommendations.
