Police Minister must explain slow response to vandalism attack

Police Minister Mick Gentleman must explain why it has taken almost six months to respond to a vandalism attack of a community group, Shadow Police Minister Giulia Jones said.
Authorities issued a slow and inappropriate response to the vandalism attack by releasing pixelated images of the suspected vandals six months after the fact.
“This attack has been distressing for the community and their disappointment at the delayed response is understandable,” Mrs Jones said.
“How are members of the public supposed to provide genuine assistance when the images are pixelated and they are six months old?
“What caused the six month delay in seeking public assistance?
“The Police Minister owes the Giralang and Canberra community an explanation. I look forward to questioning him in annual reports hearing,” Mrs Jones concluded.
