Canberra Liberals Leader Alistair Coe has welcomed the Federal Government’s $66 billion small and medium-sized family business package that will directly support 115,000 businesses in Canberra.
“Small and family businesses in Canberra are hurting right now. Many employers that the Canberra Liberals’ team has spoken with in recent days are considering their future. That’s why the Federal Government’s support package announced today is so important,” Mr Coe said.
“This package will support 115,000 Canberra businesses. It will not only help businesses to keep paying their bills but to continue employing tens of thousands of Canberrans.
“There are still a number of things the ACT Government can do to further support businesses through tax cuts and red tape reductions and I will continue to work with the Government to advance these key priorities.
“All Canberrans can also step up and help local small and family businesses. This could be as simple as going to local cafes (while being mindful of social distancing), buying vouchers for future use or gifts and supporting your local shops on social media,” Mr Coe concluded.
