The Auditor-General has given the ACT Government a scathing review of the ACT’s Speed Camera network, Shadow Minister for Transport Alistair Coe said today.
“The opposition has long held concerns about the selection of speed camera locations and their effectiveness. It is no wonder the government recently announced a review into their speed camera network,” Mr Coe said.
“The government has misled the community by saying the cameras were about road safety when, in actual fact, for some sites, crash data was not considered and the proposal was a budget submission.
“This is yet another blatant failing of Minister Corbell and the ACT Labor government,” Mr Coe concluded.
