Burch struggles to deal with with ESA bullying allegations

Joy Burch has continued to demonstrate she’s struggling to deal with bullying inside the Emergency Services Authority by failing to answer questions on the issue in the Legislative Assembly, Shadow Minister for Emergency Services Brendan Smyth said today.

The Canberra Liberals asked the Minister for Emergency Services in question time:

“Minister, how many bullying complaints have been made against the ESA Commissioner to date?

The Minister failed to answer the question.

“Given the report into the toxic management culture in the ACT Ambulance Service and allegation of bullying and sexist behaviour in the ACT Fire and Rescue, the failure of the Minister to answer questions in the Legislative Assembly is worrying,” Mr Smyth said.

“The Minister must assure the people of the ACT that she has full confidence in the ESA Commissioner and fully answer these questions,” Mr Smyth concluded.
