The Attorney-General and Minister for the Arts, Senator George Brandis has announced that the Canberra Symphony Orchestra will receive an additional $50,000 in funding this year to support a 2014 Christmas Concert.
“The Canberra Symphony Orchestra is a highly valued arts organisation in the Canberra. They provide a wide range of music concerts and activities that provide great benefit to Canberra and the region,” said Senator Seselja.
The funding will provide for an addition to the existing 2014 season.
“I am pleased that the Coalition has recognised the key role the CSO plays in our community and an additional concert will be welcomed by Canberrans,” continued Senator Seselja.
“It is a key priority of the Australian Government to support excellence in Australia’s arts and cultural sector. I commend Senator Seselja for highlighting the CSO as worthy recipient of additional funding to fulfil this priority,” concluded Senator the Hon. George Brandis.
