Coe Urges Canberrans to Get Behind the Red Shield Appeal

Member for Ginninderra Alistair Coe will be doorknocking houses in Belconnen this Sunday, collecting donations for the Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal. Mr Coe said he is proud to be getting behind such an important local charity that provides support to thousands of people across Canberra.

“With the cost of living rising rapidly in the ACT, the need for assistance from charities like the Salvation Army is increasing,” Mr Coe said today.

“Temperatures are already dipping below freezing so with this in mind, it’s important that we recognise the need to give what we can to those that are in need.

“The Red Shield Appeal relies heavily on a big volunteer base and is the main fundraiser for the Salvation Army.

“I will be doorknocking with other volunteers from the Belconnen Salvation Army on Sunday the 26th of May, and I encourage everyone to open their doors and donate what they can,” Mr Coe concluded.
