ACT Shadow Minister for Sport and Recreation Steve Doszpot and ACT Shadow Minister for Youth Andrew Wall will today be volunteering for Menslink as the match-day charity for the Prime Minister’s XI cricket game at Manuka Oval. Menslink has supported Canberra’s community for over ten years and every cent raised today will be used to continue their support for young men and their families.
“We are proud to be supporting such an important local charity at today’s cricket match. It is a charity that has helped many young men through distressing times to avoid isolation, depression, crime, drugs and suicide,” Mr Doszpot said.
“It is an opportunity to raise awareness and funds while having fun and getting involved in a great Australian game,” Mr Doszpot concluded.
Mr Wall will also be volunteering. “Our aim today is to raise awareness for the issues facing young men and the work that Menslink does across the ACT,” Mr Wall said.
“We will also be out there today to raise much needed money through gold coin donations to help fund Menslink programs such as counselling and volunteer mentoring services.
“We are volunteering at this event and encourage anyone that can to come down and support this worthwhile cause and get into the spirit of the game,”
