Member for Molonglo Steve Doszpot will kick off the Heartmoves exercise program at the YMCA Gungahlin Leisure Centre tomorrow. Created by the Heart Foundation and powered by YMCA Australia, Heartmoves is a program encouraging people living with a health condition to participate in a safe and effective exercise program that is suitable for everyone.
“This is a low to moderate intensity exercise program which is suitable for people with stable long term health conditions like heart disease, diabetes or obesity. It’s terrific that another Heartmoves program is launching in the ACT,” Mr Doszpot said today.
“The Heartmoves program at the YMCA will also be offered on Saturdays to make the program available to people who are working during the week.
The launch will take place at 10.30am tomorrow at the YMCA Gungahlin Leisure Centre, The Valley Avenue, Gungahlin.
“In conjunction with the Volunteering ACT 25 Days of Volunteering Campaign I’ll also be volunteering, putting in donation calls for the Heart Foundation ACT which does a terrific job promoting a healthy and active lifestyle for all Canberrans,” Mr Doszpot concluded.
