Labor’s unguided missile strikes Coombs

Labor’s unguided missile and Member for Murrumbidgee Bec Cody has thrown her own constituents under a bus arguing, “they’ll get over it”.

In a debate on the Canberra Liberals’ motion to protect the Coombs Peninsula from multi-dwelling development, Bec Cody claimed Coombs Peninsula was of “no particular value” and that residents opposed to its development would “get over it”.

“The Barr Government is so arrogant and disrespectful towards their electors,” Member for Murrumbidgee Giulia Jones said.

“Bec Cody’s disrespect for her own constituents is unbelievable.

“Residents of Coombs and the Molonglo Valley have made it very clear that the Coombs Peninsula is a highly valued environmental and recreational asset. It is frequently used by residents for health and recreational purposes. Bec Cody’s flippant attitude to a valued community asset in her own electorate is embarrassing,” Mrs Jones said.
