Senator for the ACT Zed Seselja will join Lanyon Pharmacy at Lanyon Marketplace for the opening of their new look store this Saturday.
The opening will reveal new facilities from the major refit which include built-in consultation rooms and dedicated medication packing areas. The pharmacy will also now be able to provide the local community with a range of professional services such as leave of absence certificates, health screening and medication management.
Mark Leighton, Managing Partner of Lanyon Pharmacy said the changes will enable the pharmacy to efficiently handle the increased work load due to growth in the local area.
“As the store grows it will also allow us to employ more local people. Currently we have around 35 employees ranging from full time and casual staff to local high school students in their first job and university students studying health courses,” Mr Leighton concluded.
Senator Seselja said the new facilities will provide a boost to economic activity and employment opportunities in the Lanyon area.
“I congratulate the Lanyon Pharmacy and the Life Pharmacy Group on their investment in the Lanyon region.
“Lanyon Pharmacy have been serving the local community since the Marketplace opened in 1997, the new refurbishments will ensure they continue to serve the most southern parts of Canberra for many years to come,” Senator Seselja concluded.
