Today, Shadow Minister for the Environment Nicole Lawder MLA will launch the Canberra Ornithologists Group’s (COG) 50th anniversary photographic exhibition at the ACT Legislative Assembly.
“The exhibition will feature photographs by club members focusing on birds native to the Canberra region. The public is being asked to vote for their favourite picture as club members compete for competition prizes,” Ms Lawder said.
“It’s terrific to have an organisation like the Canberra Ornithologists Group which is committed to raising the profile of birds in the ACT and surrounds while also working to preserve their habitats. I congratulate the club on its 50th anniversary and wish all of Canberra’s avid bird enthusiasts all the best for the next 50 years.
“Plenty of talent will be on display and I encourage everyone to come and witness the best of Canberra’s bird photography through this exhibition which runs from today until Saturday the 5th of July,” Ms Lawder concluded.
Nicole Lawder MLA will open the exhibition from 1pm today in the Exhibition Room on the first floor of the ACT Legislative Assembly.
