ACT Shadow Minister for the Environment, Elizabeth Lee, calls on the ACT Government to be completely transparent about the set up, process and findings of the investigative panel appointed to examine the FOY Group’s proposed plastics-to-fuel plant at Hume.
“Canberrans deserve to be fully informed of what is going on in their own backyard. For any investigation to have merit it must be a fully transparent one,” Ms Lee said today.
“Early yesterday afternoon, I wrote to the Minister for the Environment asking him a number of questions about the establishment of the panel and whilst the subsequent media reports made public some of my queries, there are still many unanswered questions and the community has the right to know exactly what their government is doing to allay their concerns.
“I am calling on the ACT Government to make public the draft terms of reference and keep the community informed of every step of this investigative process,” Ms Lee concluded.
