ACT Opposition Leader Zed Seselja and ACT Deputy Opposition Leader Brendan Smyth announced today that if elected, a Canberra Liberals Government will commit $15 million for the development of an indoor swimming pool in Lanyon.
“The Canberra Liberals believe that all Canberra residents should have access to recreational and community facilities within a reasonable distance from their homes,” Mr Seselja said.
“That’s why if elected, we’ll commit $15 million for an indoor swimming pool in Lanyon, and give the community the facility it deserves.
“This pool will be a great asset for all members of the Lanyon community,” Mr Seselja concluded.
Mr Smyth said that Tuggeranong residents have endured ten years of massive rates increases, but haven’t been given adequate community facilities in return.
“A new indoor swimming pool for Lanyon is part of our comprehensive plan to improve local services with lower rates and charges,” Mr Smyth said.
“After 11 years of neglect under ACT Labor, we’ve very pleased to give Lanyon residents a community facility of which they can be proud.”
