Member for Brindabella Andrew Wall has questioned whether the ACT Green/Labor Government has any clear strategies to stop dangerous driving in suburban areas across the ACT, particularly in the electorate of Brindabella.
Many residents have raised their concerns about the lack of solutions the Government has for curbing burnouts and drag racing on our streets.
“There are numerous examples of burnouts and other reckless behaviour occurring right across Canberra, but particularly in the south,” Mr Wall said.
“At the Calwell Playing Fields there is ample evidence of this behaviour and ironically this is happening right under the government’s nose, next to a government-owned facility.
“The Government have become complacent when it comes to dangerous driving activities.
“This complacency proves the Government is out-of-touch with community expectations.
“I urge ACT Labor and their ACT Green colleague to get on top of this issue and start working with the local community to find some solutions to this ongoing problem,” Mr Wall concluded.
