Senator Zed Seselja will be helping out in Brewbar Café on Anketell Street in Tuggeranong this morning from 10:00am as part of the Shop Small campaign, which will run throughout the month of November. Shop Small aims to promote small business in our local communities, and encourages consumers to give something back to the many thousands of hard-working people in Canberra who give our local community its character.
“Small business is often referred to as the backbone of Australia, with more than seven million people actively involved in their operation,” Senator Seselja said today.
“I’m committed to the long-term prosperity of small businesses. Local shops create thriving local communities and in turn create local jobs.
“I’ll be doing my bit to promote Shop Small by helping out in a local Tuggeranong café this morning.”
Shop Small began four years ago as ‘Small Business Saturday,’ a one-day event in the United States. The campaign took off and has since operated in three different continents and now its Australia’s turn.
“I’m urging all Canberrans to support small business and to think small when you next visit your local shopping centre,” concluded Senator Seselja.
