New Liberal MLAs make first speeches

New Liberal MLAs Peter Cain and Leanne Castley will deliver their first speeches in the ACT Legislative Assembly today.

“It is an enormous pleasure welcoming Peter and Leanne to our strong and diverse Canberra Liberals team.” Ms Lee said.

“As a former teacher, principal, lawyer, and vice-president of the Law Society, Peter brings a huge level of experience and expertise in governance.

“Leanne’s savviness and her background as a small business owner, IT consultant, and country music singer will bring a level of freshness and engagement that will be of great benefit to our team.

“I look forward to working closely with Peter and Leanne and the rest of the Canberra Liberals team. I know they will make a strong, positive contribution to serving the people of Canberra,” Ms Lee said.

“It is an honour to represent the people of Ginninderra. I will be a strong advocate for Belconnen, fighting for practical solutions for the area and holding the Labor-Greens Government to account,” said Mr Cain.

“The issues, views and aspirations of my electorate of Yerrabi, that’s what matters to me, particularly as Yerrabi is the only ACT electorate that does not have a Minister sitting at the Cabinet table,” said Ms Castley.
