Canberra Liberals bid farewell to Alistair Coe

Alistair Coe will today depart the Legislative Assembly, following 12 years of service as Liberal Member for Ginninderra and Yerrabi.

Canberra Liberals Leader Elizabeth Lee said Mr Coe has been a formidable member of the Legislative Assembly and he will be missed - not only as an outstanding local member but as a colleague and friend.

“Alistair has achieved a great deal during his 12 years of service as a local member and leader of the Canberra Liberals,” said Ms Lee.

“Among Alistair’s many achievements during his time in the Assembly is his role in driving the establishment of the Integrity Commission, uncovering the land deals and introducing and amending numerous pieces of legislation to improve government transparency.

“Alistair put forward many policies, including comprehensive planning policy, and the Rapid Bus Plan in 2016, that was largely adopted by the government.

“Alistair has also been a champion for many groups including small business, faith, and multicultural communities.

“It has been my pleasure to work with Alistair. I have learnt much from his leadership and Canberra is richer for his service to our great city.

“On behalf of the Canberra Liberals, I thank Alistair for his dedication to the community and Liberal Party. I wish him and his family all the best for the future,” Ms Lee concluded.
