Confusion from the community around Access Canberra storefront services in the ACT has led to Shadow Minister for Regulatory Services Peter Cain raising the issue during question time this week.
Following a number of complaints from members of the community, Mr Cain said this ACT Labor-Greens Government is the worst service delivery government the territory has ever had.
“Canberrans deserve service delivery of the highest order, with a diverse range of options available for customer engagement,” Mr Cain said.
“One of the many issues raised includes the Dickson Access Canberra Storefront only open for land titles transactions despite the website saying otherwise which is causing confusion.
“Unfortunately, some constituents travel there with broader expectations as to what services are available and are disappointed.
“A customer-centred approach would ensure that information on services available from Access Canberra service centres is accurate.
“Access Canberra has limited and restrictive opening hours, and some people make time to go to their nearest storefront just to find out they will need to travel somewhere else to interact with Government services.
“This is not the ‘one stop shop’ the Labor Greens Government have promised Canberrans,” Mr Cain concluded.
There are only four fully functional service centres in the whole of the ACT.
