During question time today, the Health Minister Rachel Stephen-Smith refused to rule out the ACT Labor-Greens governments compulsory acquiring Clare Holland House.
Acting Opposition Leader Jeremy Hanson asked Ms Stephen-Smith ‘Is the Government considering taking over Clare Holland House?’ and ‘will the Minister rule out a forced takeover of Clare Holland House?’ which the Minister refused to answer.
“What is clear following question time today is that it appears the ACT Labor-Greens government has every intention of forcibly acquiring Clare Holland House,” Mr Hanson said.
“The Minister was given the opportunity to be upfront with Canberrans about their intentions regarding Clare Holland House but once again as is the case with this government they refuse to be upfront with the community.
“Clare Holland House is a very highly regarded palliative care unit that has been providing an important service to the people of Canberra.
“I once again call on the Health Minister to be upfront and tell Canberrans if the ACT Government will be forcibly taking over Clare Holland House,” Mr Hanson concluded.
